Introducing: Rick Phillips
My name is Rick Phillips. I received my real estate sales license in 2005 when I was 19. At the time, I was the youngest licensed realtor® in Shasta County. I immediately interviewed a dozen brokers in town and went to work for RE/MAX Five-Star where I spent 5 years helping home buyers and sellers achieve their real estate goals. In November 2010 I transitioned to Real Living: Real Estate Professionals- where I am today.
When I am not in the office, you will find me spending time with my wife and our son. We love Redding for its year-round beauty which we enjoy bicycling, hiking, gardening, snowboarding. My family has an insatiable love of travel which has taken us to Hawai'i (where we lived while my wife went to school), Belize, Italy, Greece, Malta, and many States in our country.
Collaboration is key to any society and I think Henry Ford nailed it when he said: "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."
I am honored to have been selected to participate in the 2011 Leadership Redding cohort. Through this amazing program, I found even more love for our region and community through education and stewardship. Our class graduated in May 2011 and I am delighted to now be a part of the Leadership Redding Steering Committee where I am able to work behind the scenes to continue to share the program with others.
Professional development is important to me and I attend as many conferences, and seminars as possible. I am currently pursuing my dream of obtaining my broker's license. I serve on the Shasta County Board of Realtors' Green Committe and the Legislative Committee as well as the Young Professionals group through the Shasta County MLS
In the Fall of 2011, the Shasta Board of Realtors sponsored my trip to Long Beach to attend the Young Professionals Network (YPN) conference to bring back information on opening a YPN chapter in Shasta County. We were recently notified that our application to start a local chapter was accepted and I am honored to have been asked to co-chair this exciting new professional group in our area. My hope is to inspire and facilitate a more team-oriented atmosphere among our local Real Estate professionals which will in turn make for a more cohesive transaction process for those we serve.
